Studio Sessions

Every season we invite you to join the artists of TCDP in the studio to see how we warm up, train, create, and rehearse for our upcoming performances. Get an inside look at what it’s like to be a professional dancer. Studio sessions will be announced a couple months before the start of the season. Please check back!

New Voices Choreographers & Composer Initiative

This unique choreographic fellowship connects talented emerging choreographers and composers, giving them resources to create a new dance work on the dancers of TCDP, while receiving guidance from Co-Artistic Director Jennifer McQuiston Lott. Wine & Dance

Join the Traverse City Dance Project for our annual Wine & Dance event at Rove Winery. Enjoy some incredible wine while being entertained by the dancers and musicians of TCDP in a creative interactive way! Please check back in March 2021.

Mobile Theater Subsidized Rental program

The Traverse City  Dance Project is a self-sufficient portable stage that will allow Arts Organizations the ability to transform any space into a professional theater inside or out. The Mobile Theater is customized with state of the art equipment to ensure the success of your performances.  The TCDP Mobile Theater will be available for other Non Profit Arts Organizations at a subsidized rate when TCDP is not in season. The design of the Mobile Theater is created to be able to accommodate many different locations, venues, audience size, art forms, and environmental conditions. 

TCDP Community Tour program

The Traverse City Dance Project is committed to touring with our Mobile  Theatre to one underserved arts community in Michigan every summer. Did you know that there are 83 underserved arts communities in Northern Michigan? We believe all 83 of these communities deserve to have the opportunity to experience live professional dance and Music. The community tour will include outreach events, workshops, Q & A with the dancers, and a free live performance. Please contact us if you feel your community could benefit!

Ballet at the Bay

An annual free community performance at the Open Space in downtown Traverse City that will premiere in September 2021. These performances will feature live music including special guests from the Traverse Symphony Orchestra and the newly formed Traverse Opera Company. Imagine gathering with your friends and family on a blanket with a glass of wine while watching live dance and a string quartet as the sun is setting on the bay in the background! TCDP is committed to making this a free community program! Check back for more details in March 2021.
