Join the Traverse City Dance Project and the Dennos Museum Center for the second of three performances in the newest event in town: the Northern Michigan Dance Festival. This highlight of the festival features Grand Rapids Ballet performing choreographer Trey McIntyre’s Be Here Now, a ballet set to music that captures the spirit of the 1960s. The first act of the program is a mixed bill showcasing dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Traverse City Dance Project.
The evening also includes Three Movements—a music and contemporary dance installation in the Sculpture Gallery of the Dennos Museum Center. This piece transforms the transitional moments of the night through a collaboration with the Charlie Millard Band. The final movement doubles as a reception, complete with a cash bar and the opportunity to meet the dancers. Arrive between 7:00–7:30 PM to experience the Pre-Show Installation!
