Apprentice Program.

The Traverse City Dance Project offers apprenticeships to emerging professional or pre-professional dancers who are embarking on their careers. What does being an apprenticeship entail?

  • Daily Company Ballet Class

  • Learn and rehearse the TCDP repertory, with potential opportunities to perform.

  • Benefit from mentorship provided by professional dancers from acclaimed companies.

  • Experience firsthand the rigorous schedule and demands of a professional dance company.

Who can become an apprentice?

We're seeking emerging professional or pre-professional dancers who are passionate about pursuing a career in ballet, contemporary, and /or contemporary ballet. Applicants should demonstrate maturity, self-motivation, and a strong commitment to their craft.

What else should I know?

  • Program Dates: Typically 5-6 Weeks in the Summer

  • Sample Schedule:

    • 10-11:15am: Company Class

    • 11:30am-2:00pm: Rehearsal

    • 2:00-3:00pm: Lunch

    • 3:00-6:00pm: Rehearsal

While our apprentice program offers a professional-level experience, we understand that you're just beginning your journey. We're here to support you as you grow and develop as a dancer. The apprenticeship program pays a small stipend and travel related costs.
