Julie Cobble

Executive Director

Julie Cobble, now retired from the stage, was a dancer in the inaugural season of Traverse City Dance Project. As a young dancer, she trained at the Washington School of Ballet in DC. During her professional career, she had the opportunity to dance all over the world, performing classical roles such as Carmen, Sugar Plum, and Balanchine’s 'Serenade', as well as in contemporary pieces with choreographers such as Amy Marshall, Stuart Loungeaway, Brent Whitney, and Seyong Kim. After her dance career, she began teaching fitness in New York City, where she became a Master Trainer for 'Physique 57'. With the company, she traveled to Thailand for a year, and lead the team as the US Company Ambassador and manager for their Bangkok franchise. Upon her return to New York City, she was promoted to Associate Manager of the New York Team, where she worked with 15-20 instructors and in recruiting and client relations. She finished her Master's degree in Nutrition and is a credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist where she works as a nutrition consultant and content creator for the nutrition communications firm, 'Nutrition on Demand'. She is honored to continue to be part of the Traverse City Dance Project journey, as it holds a special place in her heart, and be able to apply her combined experiences in both dance and communications in her role of Executive Director.
